Kathy Kusner originally competed in Italy but did have a habit of refusing a fence during the course of the round, Aberali found himself in the barn of Brazilian superstar Nelson Pessoa, who intended to sell him. Nelson Pessoa, being a close friend of Kathy Kusner, reached out to her after Aberali`s arrival, mentioning that the horse was reasonably priced due to his tendency to stop during jumps.

Kathy would work with Aberali and manage to stop the horses tendency for disobedience and would go on to win many international classes all around the world.
